Card Services Software for PCMCIA Devices

In order to use any PCMCIA adapter, a portable computer fitted with PCMCIA slots must first have card-services support software installed. This is usually supplied with the computer but may not necessarily have been installed. The card-services software is normally supplied on a floppy disk and includes a SETUP or INSTALL program. Following installation, the card-services software is normally loaded at system startup time via a series of entries in the machine's C:\CONFIG.SYS file, for example:

REM SystemSoft CardSoft(TM) PCMCIA DRIVERS:
DEVICEHIGH=C:\CARDSOFT\SSCIRRUS.EXE /SKT:2
DEVICEHIGH=C:\CARDSOFT\CS.EXE /POLL:1
DEVICEHIGH=C:\CARDSOFT\CSALLOC.EXE
DEVICEHIGH=C:\CARDSOFT\CARDID.EXE

If card-services have not been installed, this needs doing first.
Either use the disk supplied with your computer

Find your Laptop Manufactures Support Pages via - http://www.laptop-shop.co.uk/drivers.html

or use a generic driver such as the CardSoft software, which needs to be run from a floppy disk -
