This month, Israel celebrates the 60th anniversary of its rebirth after almost 1900 years of exile. As a Québécois, i can empathize with the situation of your proud country since we share a somewhat similar one. You, a small country of roughly 7 million people, with 6 million Jews and one million arabs, surrounded by an ocean of over 350 million arabs. Us, a province of roughly 7 million people, with 6 million french speaking Québécois and 1 million anglos, surrounded by an ocean of about 350 million anglophones. But of course, there ends the similitude. We fight for the survival of our culture and our language, and if we fail, we'll end up speaking english. Ho! Good God No!!!!!...
...Well, i'm writing in english right now and all seems to be fine, all my parts seem well attached in the right place, including my head, heart is beating fine, breathing normally... I guess this english thingy is not that bad after all, i'm still alive and well!
On the other hand, if you were to lose even only once, it would be your first and last time. You are courageously fighting for your very survival against an enemy that wants nothing less than exterminate every last one of you, and you are doing it with strength of character and an unsurpassed resolve. I admire your country and despise those who condemn you for defending yourselves and your lives. It's a shame to see the way much of the world hates you, a growing mental illness spreading like an epidemic worldwide. But it doesn't matter, for God is on your side, He protects His people. Besides, your odds of survival appear way better than ours. Not making any children while following an insane immigration policy that can be summed up as "Come and get it, anyone!" will probably see my people vanish from this province within a generation or two, and those replacing us will never have to even fire a shot! I like your odds much better.
Happy 60th Independence Day Israel, may God continue to watch over you.
